Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How do bubbling rocks work?

Water is pumped up through a drilled hole in the boulder and bubbles or flows over the surface, then drains back into a hidden underground basin. The water recirculates continuously, creating sound and movement with very little maintenance.

Almost none. Check the water level every few days during summer (evaporation happens faster in heat), and top it off as needed(unless autofill is installed). Occasional power-washing and/or cleaning solution added, Clean out leaves and debris from the basin once or twice a year. That’s it. No fish, no plants, no harsh chemicals.

Absolutely. We help you select boulders that match your landscape style and aesthetic. Whether you want natural limestone, granite, or basalt columns, we’ll find the right stone for your space and budget.

Yes. There’s no standing water around a single boulder, and very little with a trio—just water flowing over rock and disappearing underground. Kids and pets can typically play around them safely, and dogs often enjoy drinking from the flowing water.

Most bubbling rock installations are completed in 1-2 days, depending on the size and complexity. We dig the basin, install the pump and plumbing, drill and set the boulder(s), and finish with surrounding landscaping.
